Shahnaz Gholami,Women’s Rights Activist,Sentenced to Six Months Prison

Feminist School:The court case review for Shanaz Gholami ,a journalist and women’s right activists, ordered six month imprisonment to be served in Azerbaijan. Gholami had to attend a court hearing for "propaganda against the state" in September 2008 which was sentenced for six month imprisonment that was objected by her lawyers Mohammad Ali Dadkhah and Hajar Sabaghiyan. Gholami went on hunger strike for 8 days to object to length of her sentence. Gholami was imprisoned for 5 years between 1989 -1993 for political activities. Her six month sentence has been confirmed by her lawyers.
