Feministschool: More than 650 civil society activists and equal rights defenders have requested Nargess Mohammadi’s release by signing an Statement Some of the signatures are: Shirin Ebadi. Mehrangiz Kar, Nasrin Sotoudeh, Faeze Hashemi, Noushin Ahmadi Khorasani, Fakhrolsadat Mohtashamipour, Minoo Mortazi, Ahmad Montazeri, Isa Saharkhiz, and...

It has been 2 months since the arrest of Narges Mohamadi, human rights and women’s right activist, and her transfer to Evin prison for the execution of her prison sentence from 4 years ago,she can’t endure her sentence because of her illness and due to the doctor’s opinion, she had been released from prison on bail of 600 million toman in August 2012 for medical treatment after 3 months imprisonment, and has been under the doctors supervision with the observation of the authorities for medical therapy until her new arrest, therefore the execution of her sentence is not legally right, and due to the fact that she has endured more than one third of her sentence she is eligible for parole by the new Islamic penal code.

Though it’s necessary to mention that all her activities have been legal and peaceful and she has always tried for improving of civil society and civil rights and imprisoning such a responsible citizen is inhuman and illegal.on the other hand a new summon has been sent to her and her family from the revolutionary court after her arrest and due to that she must attend the court on 8th of July in the section 15 of the revolutionary court for the new trial,it’s obvious that her new case’s inquiry will be without her free access to a lawyer and right preparation for defending her self, and that make doubts about the trial to be rightful and just.

therefore we ask the judiciary authorities to release Narges Mohamadi before her trial date so that at least a rightful inquiry for the trial can be prepared for her.
